12th Century: The garb shown below is made up of a chemise (under garment) and surcoat or tunic (over garment) belted at the waist. These are very easy to make. The only seams are down the sides and under the arms. The headpiece is made up of a wimple and veil which is pinned to the head and a piecrust hat which is pinned to the wimple (under the chin and around the head.)
