The Blue Eagle String was formed in March 2008. It members are Tom Naples (guitar, banjo, vocals), Jim Mumm (guitar, mandolin, dobro, vocals), Lorna Czarnota (vocals, storytelling).

The band plays a variety of venues including coffeehouses, nightclubs, museums, schools, festivals, and special events.

In addition to songs from the 1930s and the Great Depression, the Blue Eagles perform live in conjunction with a special multimedia presentation tiled "Whose Names are Unknown."
